The Horizon Signal team had an incredible week at the American Traffic Safety Services Association Convention & Traffic Expo in Houston.

ATSSA is where the traffic control industry comes together — and this year, we didn’t just show up.

We launched. We introduced. We demonstrated what’s next.

At ATSSA, we officially introduced Horizon Signal Plus — and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Horizon Signal Plus gives you remote access to your temporary traffic signals. Allowing you to manage and monitor your system without needing to be physically on site.

With Horizon Signal Plus, you can:

  • Monitor system status in real time
  • Receive alerts instantly
  • view live signal timings
  • adjust timing settings remotely
  • Reprogram your setup from anywhere

The result? Faster response, improved efficiency, and smarter work zone traffic control.

We’re excited about what this means for crews, contractors ,and agencies looking for better visibility and control in the field.

No unnecessary trips.

No wasted time.

No guessing what’s happening in the field.

When schedules are tight and crews are stretched, the ability to manage signals from anywhere makes a real difference. You gain better visibility over your fleet, respond faster to issues, and reduce costly downtime.

At the American Traffic Safety Services Association Convention & Traffic Expo, it was clear that contractors are looking for smarter, more efficient ways to operate.

Horizon Signal Plus was built to meet that need.

Meet the SQ2 Lite

We also introduced the new SQ2 Lite at ATSSA.

The SQ2 Lite is designed to give contractors a reliable, efficient signal option that fits a wide range of job site conditions. It delivers the performance crews expect in a streamlined configuration that’s easy to deploy and manage.

For companies looking to expand their fleet or add flexibility to their setups, the SQ2 Lite provides another strong solution backed by Horizon Signal’s trusted service and support.

Showcasing the WZAWS

Safety remains a top priority across our industry, which is why our Work Zone Advanced Warning System (WZAWS) generated strong interest throughout the week.

WZAWS is designed to alert drivers of slowed or stopped traffic ahead using a series of traffic monitoring devices combined with illuminated wigwags on various mobile platforms. By providing clear, visible warning upstream of the roadway it helps reduce the risk of sudden stops and rear-end collisions.

It integrates seamlessly into existing traffic control setups and enhances driver awareness well before vehicles reach the queue.

We were honored to see our  WZAWS recognized as a runner-up for the New Products Rollout (NPRO) award at the American Traffic Safety Services Association Convention & Traffic Expo. That recognition reinforces the importance of continued innovation in work zone safety and our goal to make our roadways safer for both motorists and workers.

Thank You

To everyone who stopped by the booth, asked questions, shared feedback, or talked through upcoming projects — thank you. The conversations we had at the American Traffic Safety Services Association Convention & Traffic Expo reinforced why we do what we do.

If you couldn’t make it to ATSSA and want to learn more about Horizon Signal Plus, the SQ2 Lite, or WZAWS, let’s connect. Whether you’re expanding your fleet, upgrading equipment, or looking for stronger service support, our team is ready to help.

The momentum from this week is just the beginning — and we’re excited for what’s ahead.
